ENERGY DIALOGUE AND BEYOND: WHAT DO THE EU-RUSSIA ENERGY RELATIONS TELL US ABOUT THE FUTURE OF EUROPE?
on 20 May 2013, 14.15 at Lossi 36, room 103
EU-Russian energy relations make the field of most intense cooperation between the EU and Russia. It is the field of pragmatic interaction, which is in the interests of both partners. Yet, irrespective of various success stories, it is full of difficulties and contradictions. These later are telling because they are not limited to the field of energy but rather go beyond and permeate the overall context of EU-Russian relations. In that, one can clearly see the different models for the organisation of pan-European economic and political space offered by the two key players. This event will be structured in the format of two short presentations, followed by a discussion, and focused on how energy relations illustrate the diverging visions that partners have vis-a-vis each other and how they see the future of Europe.
